Well this has been a crazy month for me, so much is going on i've hardly had time to blow my nose!. I have gone back to school after 12 years!!, well college but boy has it thrown me. I am studying complementary therapies, even though I love making my lotions and potions I also want to go down the therapy route, it kinda goes hand in hand with what I am doing, but the course is a year so I want start to practice as a complementary therapist until I graduate (thats hoping I pass, I have to admit I am finding the studying a little daunting and a little damn hard!).
In the middle off studying I am also moving house, this is very exciting as the house has out buildings that i am renovating into workshops and hopefully in time if all goes well, id like to have a room that I could do massage, reflexology, reki ect. But all in baby steps.
My have you noticed the colours changing in the trees. I have to admit I love this time of year, it is usually still warm (this year has been fantastic!!), and the colours are breath taking truly breath taking. Up here in Pitlochry the scenery is outstanding, I dont think I will ever get use to the beauty that surrounds me.
Autumn Equinox, Mabon
Now the harvest is gathered and complete, and preparations are made for the coming winter. The sun is overhead at the equator. Day and night are of equal length all over the world - hence the term 'equinox' - but dark is gaining. Gauzy mist veils the baring limbs of the trees and leaves fall at sunset of red, gold, amber and bronze. At the equinoxes anything can happen. Lives may reach an unforeseen turning point. Now we count up the harvest and all the fruits of summer, and give thanks and recognition. Also we begin, in growing peacefulness and silence, to look within ourselves. The Goddess is Harvest Queen, glowing in each ripe blackberry, filling barns and larders with Her treasures. The shelves in supermarkets, of course are always full, and so it is possible to forget the importance of this time of year, of storing all harvest properly, of valuing and conserving.
The God's presence is shadowy. His face is turned towards the underworld, yet He is herd in each sigh of the wind and glimpsed in the shades of early dusk. He leads us to the hidden, inward places of our soul and invites us to explore.
Cleaning at autumn is just as important as the familiar spring clean. In spring we make room for the new growth. In autumn we make room for contemplation. So turn out your cuboards as autumn advances. Get rid off anything past its sell-by-date.
Now its the start of the academic year, time to plan how we study or teach, time to select evening classes, time to plan how we will spend the quiet winter evenings. As the mists weave and the light wanes, take the coming Darkness as a gift. savour the peace, make some room in your life to dream, if you need to, or learn about any subject, most of all yourself.
Well my dears, Im off for now drop me a line tell me your autumn stories, I am away to start packing for my new home, out with the old and in with the new eh. Oh and before I go my price list has went up on the web, but there has been a little confusion on how to order the products, just drop me a email with what you would like and I will e mail you through pay pal. I haven't put a shopping cart or a shop as the majority of what I sell is made up for the individual so I usually need to talk to the customer first.
Bright Blessings
Savannah x
